Removal procedure



1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.

2. Remove the decorative engine cover. See Part 1C2, "Engine Mechanical - HFV6 3.2L".

3. Disconnect the wiring harness connector (1) from the Evaporative Emissions Canister Purge Solenoid Valve (2).

4. Disconnect the two purge hoses of the SUPB adsorber (3 and 4).

4. Disconnect the two purge hoses of the SUPB adsorber (3 and 4).


5. Move the Evaporative Canister Purge Valve (1) off the Evaporative Canister Purge Valve mounting bracket (2).

6. If necessary, perform a functional check of the Evaporative Canister Purge Valve as follows:
  • Try to blow air through the inlet (1) of the Evaporative Canister Purge Valve. If air passes through the valve, the valve is faulty and must be replaced.

Installation procedure



1. Slide the Evaporative Canister Purge Valve onto the Evaporative Canister Purge Valve mounting bracket.

2. Connect two purge hoses of the SUPB adsorber (3 and 4).

3. Connect the wiring harness connector (1) to the Evaporative Emissions Canister Purge Valve (2).

3. Connect the wiring harness connector (1) to the Evaporative Emissions Canister Purge Valve (2).
