Auxiliary drive belt (Chevrolet Captiva 1)

Removal procedure

1. Remove the decorative engine cover. See "Decorative Engine Cover" in this section.

2. Remove the air cleaner assembly. See "Air filter assembly" in this section.

3. Remove the right front wheel.

4. Remove the mudguard.



5. Turn the accessory drive belt tensioner clockwise to decrease the belt tension.

6. While holding the tensioner in the reduced tension position, disconnect the belt.



7. Remove the engine mount assembly. See "Engine mount unit" in this section.

8. Loosen the engine mount support bracket mounting bolts.

9. Remove the engine mount support bracket by moving it upward.

10. Remove the auxiliary drive belt.

Installation procedure

1. Position the accessory drive belt.

2. Install the engine mount support bracket.

Tighten

Tighten the upper engine mount bracket mounting bolts to 90 N·m (66 lb-ft).

Tighten the lower engine mount bracket mounting bolts to 50 N·m (37 lb-ft).

3. Install the engine mount assembly. See "Engine mount unit" in this section.



4. Turn the accessory drive belt tensioner clockwise.

5. While holding the tensioner in the reduced tension position, install the belt.

6. Install the mudguard.

7. Install the right front wheel.

8. Install the air cleaner assembly. See "Air filter assembly" in this section.

9. Install the decorative engine cover. See "Decorative Engine Cover" in this section.
