Disassembly procedure


1. Remove the plain bearing using a gear and bearing separator plate and a hydraulic press.

2. Remove the thrust ring (1).

3. Remove the 4th gear pinion (2).

4. Remove the needle bearing (3).

5. Remove the 4th gear locking ring (4).

5. Remove the 4th gear locking ring (4).


6. Remove the bearing race and 3rd/4th gear synchronizer from the input shaft using the 3rd gear driven gear bearing and gear separator plate, DT-48234 and a hydraulic press.



6. Remove the bearing race and 3rd/4th gear synchronizer from the input shaft using the 3rd gear…


7. Remove the following components in one assembly:
  • Bearing ring (1).
  • 3rd/4th gear synchronizer assembly (2).
  • Thrust ring (3).
  • Thrust bearing (4).
  • Locking ring of 3rd gear pinion (5).
  • 3rd gear pinion (6).

3rd gear pinion (6).


8. Remove the needle bearing (1).

9. Remove the thrust bearing (2).

9. Remove the thrust bearing (2).


10. Press out the 5th gear using the Gear and Bearing Separator Plate, DT-48234 and a hydraulic press.
