Disassembly procedure
1. Press the 1st gear assembly and 2nd gear assembly as one unit out of the intermediate shaft using the Gear and Bearing Separator Plate, DT-48233 and a hydraulic press.
2. Place the 1st gear assembly and 2nd gear assembly as one unit on the work bench.
3. Remove the thrust ring (1).
4. Remove the roller bearing (2).
5. Remove the 1st gear pinion (3).
6. Remove the roller bearing (4).
7. Remove the bearing ring (5).
8. Remove the thrust ring (6).
9. Remove the inner cone of the 1st gear (1).
10. Remove the 1st gear locking ring (2).
11. Remove the outer cone of the 1st gear (3).
12. Remove the 1st/2nd gear synchronizer assembly (4).
13. Remove the outer cone of the 2nd gear (1).
14. Remove the 2nd gear locking ring (2).
15. Remove the inner cone of the 2nd gear (3).
16. Remove the 2nd gear.
17. Remove the needle bearings from the intermediate shaft.
