Door glass and window lifter — removal and installation (Chevrolet Tahoe 1)

1. Lower the window glass completely.

2. Remove the door trim panel and water shield.

3. Loosen the screws securing the door frame cover, move the cover back and disconnect the rods from the door lock and handle (see photo).

4. Disconnect the wire connector (if provided).

5. Unscrew the two bolts of the glass guide rails and remove the rails (see photo).

6. Tilt the door cover together with the glass and lower it over the base of the door.

7. Bend the retainer on the glass guide and remove the glass from the window regulator (see photo).

8. To access the electric window lifter parts, drill out the rivets from the inner handle housing. When assembling, secure the handle housing with self-tapping screws instead of rivets



9. Drill out the rivets from the window regulator and remove the window regulator from the door cover. When assembling, secure the window regulator with screws - self-tapping screws instead of rivets.

10. Before assembly, lubricate the window lift mechanism. Installation is performed in the reverse order.
