With cruise control, you can maintain a speed of 25 mph (40 km/h) or higher without pressing your foot on the gas pedal. This can really help on a long journey. Cruise control does not work below 25 mph (40 km/h). When you apply the brakes, the cruise control is disengaged.

Installing Cruise Control

Installing Cruise Control

1. Move the Cruise Control to the ON position.

2. Set the speed you want.

3. Press the SET button at the end of the lever and release it.

4. Remove your foot from the gas pedal.

Resuming the set speed

Resuming the set speed

Suppose you set the desired speed with the button and then apply the brake. This will, of course, turn off the Cruise Control. But you do not need to set the speed again.

Once you reach 25 mph (40 km/h) or more, you can move the Cruise Control from the ON position to the R/A position (resumption/acceleration) for half a second.

You will return back to the previously selected speed and will move at that speed.

Remember, if you hold the Cruise Control in the R/A position for more than half a second, the car will accelerate until you release the Cruise Control or apply the brakes. So, if you do not want to go faster, do not hold the switch in the R/A position.

Increasing speed when using Cruise Control

There are two ways to increase speed:

Use the gas pedal to gain more speed. Press the SET button on the end of the lever, then release the button and the gas pedal. Now you will move at a higher speed.

Move the Cruise Control from ON to R/A. Hold the Cruise Control until you reach your desired speed and then release. To increase the speed slightly, move the switch to R/A for no more than half a second. Each time you do this, your car will go 1 mph (1.6 km/h) faster.

Reduce speed when using Cruise Control

There are two ways to reduce speed when using Cruise Control:

Press the SET button on the end of the lever until you reach the lower desired speed and release the button.

To decrease your speed slightly, press the button for less than half a second. Each time you do this, you will move 1 mph (1.6 km/h) slower.

Overtaking another car with Cruise Control

Use the gas pedal to increase speed. When you take your foot off the gas pedal, your car will slow down to the previously set speed.

Using the mode on mountain roads

Many drivers find this mode inconvenient to use in the mountains and do not use it.

End of Cruise Control Use

End of Cruise Control Use

There are two ways to turn off Cruise Control:

Press the brake pedal lightly or move the shift switch to the OFF position.

Delete Cruise Control Memory

If you turn off the Cruise Control or the ignition, the Cruise Control memory is erased.
