Transfer case engagement rod — checking and adjustment (Chevrolet Tahoe 1)

1. Move the transfer case engagement lever in the cab to the 4-HIGH position.

2. Raise the vehicle and place it on stands.

3. Disconnect the rod from the transfer case engagement lever in the cabin (see photo).



4. Shift the transfer case to the 4-HIGH position by moving the lever on the case forward until it stops.

5. Adjust the tie rod joint so that the tie rod pin fits into the hole on the transmission engagement lever located in the cab.

6. Lower the vehicle.
