Sunroof Tie Rods (Chevrolet Tahoe 2)

Removal

Note: The connecting rods and other parts required for replacement are included in the repair kit.

1. Remove the sunroof window.

2. Remove the roof hatch.

3. Remove the roof drainage channel.

4. Move the drive mechanism to the extreme forward position. If necessary, use the manual drive (1) of the hatch drive electric motor to move it.



5. Loosen the screw (1) of the finger guide and remove the guide (2).



6. Remove the water drain guide (1) by pressing the guide at the rear.


7. Remove the lifting mechanism (1). Move the mechanism to the extreme rear position using the manual drive.





8. Using a small screwdriver, remove the limiter (1).



9. Remove the connecting rod (1) by lifting the outer end of the rod until it exits the hatch drive channel.

Installation

1. Install the connecting rod into the hatch drive channel.

2. Install the limiter.

3. Install the water drainage channel guide.

4. Using the manual hatch drive, move the lifting mechanism to the extreme forward position.



5. Connect the lifting mechanism to the connecting rod.

6. Install the finger guide and secure it with the screw.

7. Install the roof drainage channel.

8. Install the roof hatch.

9. Install the hatch window.
