Replacing the disc brake mounting hardware (Chevrolet Tahoe 2)

Note: The replacement of the disc brake mounting hardware is shown using the 1500 series front brake as an example.


1. Remove the brake caliper (without disconnecting the brake hose). Hang the caliper on the wire on the frame.

2. Remove the brake pads.

3. Remove the guide pins, dust boots and bushings from the caliper bracket.

4. Unscrew the bolts (2) securing the caliper bracket (1), remove the bracket.

Tightening torque:


  • 1500 series, front 200 Nm.
  • 2500 series, front 300 Nm.
  • 1500 series, rear 170 Nm.
  • 2500 series, rear 200 Nm.

Note: Apply locking adhesive to bolt threads before installation.


5. Installation is carried out in the reverse order. When installing, lubricate the bushings, dust boots and guide pins with high-melting silicone grease.
