Wheel studs — replacement (Chevrolet Trailblazer 1)

Note: This procedure applies to both front and rear wheel studs.


1. Loosen the front wheel mounting nuts, lift the vehicle and place it on vertical supports. Remove the wheel.

2. Remove the brake disc (see chapter 9).

3. Using a pressing tool, remove the studs from the hub flange (see illustration).

4. Insert new studs from the back side of the hub flange. Place a wheel nut with a flat washer on the stud.

5. Tighten the wheel nut until the stud enters the hub flange.

6. Install the disc and caliper (see chapter 9). Install the wheel, lower the vehicle onto a supporting surface and tighten the wheel nuts to the torque specified in specifications of chapter 1.
