2. Raise the vehicle and place supports under it.
3. Remove the filler plug (see illustration 16.2a - rear differential or illustration 16.2b - front differential). Remove the drain plug and completely drain the oil from the differential into a container (see illustration), then clean and reinstall the plug. Tighten it to the required torque, the value of which is given in the specifications in this chapter.

4. Using a handheld pump, squirt gun, or squeezing a plastic bottle, fill the differential with the correct type of oil (see specifications) until the level reaches the bottom edge of the filler hole. When using synthetic gear oil, it is necessary to bring the level to the mark located 12 mm below the edge of the hole.
Note: Some models with limited slip differentials may require the use of a different type of gear oil and additive.
5. Install the filler plug and tighten it to the required torque, the value of which is given in specifications this chapter.
