1. This procedure should be performed immediately after driving the vehicle, while the differential oil is warm enough to drain completely.

2. Raise the vehicle and place supports underneath it.

3. Remove the filler plug (see illustration 16.2a - rear differential or illustration 16.2b - front differential). Remove the drain plug and drain all the oil from the differential into a container (see illustration), then clean and reinstall the plug. Tighten it to the specified torque, the value of which is given in the specifications of this chapter.

29.3. To drain the transmission oil, unscrew the differential drain plug

29.3. To drain the transmission oil, unscrew the differential drain plug

4. Using a portable pump, a syringe, or by squeezing a plastic bottle, fill the differential with the correct type of oil (see specifications) until the level reaches the lower edge of the filler hole. When using synthetic transmission oil, it is necessary to bring its level to the mark located 12 mm below the edge of the hole.

Note: Some models with limited slip differentials may require the use of different types of transmission fluid and additives.

5. Install the filler plug and tighten it to the required torque, the value of which is given in specifications this chapter.
