Removal procedure
1. Turn the ignition switch to the OFF position.
2. Remove the engine coolant reservoir and fuse box. See Section 1D2, Engine Cooling System (FAM II 2.4 D) and Section 1E2 Engine Electrical System (FAM II 2.4 D).
3. Clean the area of contact between the brake system controller (EBCM) and the brake system pressure modulator (BPMV) valve from accumulated dirt and foreign materials.
4. Disconnect the electrical connector from the electronic brake control module (EBCM).
5. Loosen the screws securing the brake system controller.
6. Separate the electronic brake control module (EBCM) from the brake pressure modulator valve (BPMV) by gently pulling in different directions.
Installation procedure
1. Clean the sealing surfaces of the brake pressure modulator valve (BPMV) with denatured alcohol and a clean rag.
2. Install the electronic brake control module (EBCM) to the brake pressure modulator valve (BPMV).
3. Install the Brake System Controller (EBCM) mounting screws to the brake system Pressure modulator (BPMV) valve. Tighten the screws crosswise.
Tighten
Tighten the screws to 3 N·m (27 lb-in).
