Cylinder head cover (Chevrolet Captiva 1)

Removal procedure



1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.

2. Remove the engine decorative cover bolts and nuts.

3. Remove the screw from the decorative engine cover.

4. Disconnect the breather hose and the positive crankcase ventilation hose from the cylinder head cover.

5. Disconnect the spark plug wires from the spark plugs.

6. Disconnect the camshaft position sensor connector.

7. Remove the cylinder head cover screws.

7. Remove the cylinder head cover screws.


8. Remove the cylinder head cover.

9. Remove the cylinder head cover gasket from the cylinder head cover.

9. Remove the cylinder head cover gasket from the cylinder head cover.





Installation procedure



1. Apply a small amount of sealant to the corners of the front camshaft head and where the top of the rear cylinder head cover attaches to the cylinder head gasket.

2. Install a new cylinder head cover gasket onto the cylinder head cover.

2. Install a new cylinder head cover gasket onto the cylinder head cover.


3. Install the cylinder head cover.

4. Install the cylinder head cover screws.

Tighten

Tighten the cylinder head cover bolts to 8 N·m (71 lb-in.).

5. Connect the spark plug wires to the spark plugs.

5. Connect the spark plug wires to the spark plugs.


6. Connect the camshaft position sensor connector.

7. Connect the breather and positive crankcase ventilation hose to the cylinder head cover.

8. Install the decorative engine cover.

Tighten

Tighten the engine trim cover bolts and nuts to 8 N·m (71 lb-in.).



9. Connect the negative battery cable.
