Checking the 2nd gear inertia brake (B1) and 2nd gear brake (B2) (Chevrolet Captiva 1)

1. Check the condition of the flange, disk and plate.

• Make sure that there is no wear or burnout on the sliding surface of the disc and plate. If the disc or plate is worn or burnout, replace them.

Important: Before replacement, soak new clutch discs in the automatic transmission fluid for at least 2 hours.

2. Remove the oil pump cover.

• Remove 14 Torx bolts.

Important: Be careful not to drop the oil pump housing and oil pump cover.

• Remove the oil pump cover.

3. Remove the oil pump plate.

• Remove the oil pump plate.
• Remove the sealing ring from the pump body.

4. Remove the internal and external gears of the oil pump.



5. Remove the oil seal.

• Remove the seal with a screwdriver.

Important: Be careful not to damage the oil pump housing bushing.
