Necessary equipment
- J-23327 Clutch Spring Compressor
- J-28585 Snap Ring Remover
- J-41236 Inertia Clutch Spring Compressor
- J-45164 Spring Compressor Bridge
1. Remove the thrust bearing race.

2. Remove the flange, disc and plate of the 2nd gear inertia brake (B1).
- Using J-45164, J-21420-2 and J-23327-2, which is part of J-23327, compress the spring.
- Using J-28585, remove the snap ring from the oil pump assembly.

- Remove 1 flange, 2 discs, 2 plates. In case of HFV6 3.2L or 2.0S Diesel remove 1 flange, 3 discs and 3 plates.

3. Remove the brake piston return spring.
- Install J-21420-2 and J-23327-2, which is part of J-23327, and J-41236 and compress the spring.
- Use circlip pliers to remove the circlip.
- Remove the return spring assembly from the oil pump assembly.

Caution: When working with compressed air, wear protective glasses to prevent eye injury.
4. Remove the 2nd gear overrun brake piston (B1).
- While pressing the piston by hand, supply compressed air (4 kg/cm²) to the lubrication channel as shown in the figure and remove piston B1.
Important: Be careful not to damage the sealing ring and piston.
- Remove the sealing rings from the piston.

5. Remove the 2nd gear brake flange, disc and plate (B2).
- Remove the retaining ring with a screwdriver.

- Remove 2 flanges, 3 discs, 2 plates. In case of HFV6 3.2L or 2.0S Diesel remove 1 flange, 4 discs and 4 plates.

- Remove the return spring assembly.

- Remove the retaining ring.
Important: Be careful not to damage the oil pump cover and piston B2.

Caution: When working with compressed air, wear protective glasses to prevent eye injury.
6. Remove the 2nd gear brake piston (B2).
- While pressing the piston by hand, supply compressed air (4 kg/cm?) to the lubrication channel as shown in the figure and remove piston B2.
Important: Be careful not to damage the oil pump cover and piston.
- Remove the sealing rings from the piston.
