Secondary shaft speed sensor (Chevrolet Captiva 1)

Removal procedure

1. Disconnect the cable from the negative terminal of the battery.

2. For HFV6 3.2L or 2.0S Diesel, remove the ECM bracket.

3. Remove the secondary shaft speed sensor electrical connector (4) from the secondary shaft speed sensor.



4. Remove the secondary shaft speed sensor mounting bolt.

5. Remove the secondary shaft speed sensor from the transaxle assembly.

6. Remove the secondary shaft speed sensor O-ring. Discard the O-ring.

Installation procedure

1. Lubricate the secondary shaft speed sensor sealing ring with transmission fluid.

2. Install a new secondary shaft speed sensor O-ring onto the secondary shaft speed sensor.



3. Install the secondary shaft speed sensor into the transmission assembly.

4. Install the secondary shaft speed sensor mounting bolt.

Tighten

Tighten the secondary shaft speed sensor mounting bolt to 6 Nm (53 lbs.in).



5. Connect the electrical connector (4) to the secondary shaft speed sensor.

6. For HFV6 3.2L or 2.0S Diesel, install the ECM bracket.

7. Connect the cable to the negative terminal of the battery.
