Unscrew the bolt 4 fastening the hose 5 to the pump 1.
Instead of bolt 4, install a bolt with a fitting for connecting a pressure gauge.
Connect a pressure gauge with a measurement range of up to 15 MPa.
Fill the system with oil and bleed the system as described in section "Steering gear".
Lock the bipod in the middle position by placing stops between the bipod stop tabs and the crankcase.
Turn the steering wheel to the left or right to increase the pressure to the maximum and determine the pressure developed by the pump on the pressure gauge.
The maximum pressure must be at least 8.9 MPa.
If the pressure is less than 8.9 MPa, the pump must be replaced with a new one.
Warning. Be careful, the bipod stop can fly out under pressure.
