1. It is recommended that the motors in question be pre-lubricated prior to first start-up. This procedure reduces wear on parts during break-in. For pre-lubrication, the engine must be completely assembled with the exception of the cylinder head covers and the ignition distributor. Fill the engine with oil.
2. Pre-lubrication is provided by rotating the oil pump through the ignition distributor socket. For this purpose, an old converted Chevrolet distributor is used, which engages with the oil pump roller and is driven by an electric drill (the direction of rotation of the drill is clockwise) (see photo).
3. Oil should appear from the holes in the rocker arms approximately 3 minutes after the drill is turned on. A few seconds after the oil begins to flow, turn off the drill (see photo).
4. Reinstall the ignition distributor after installing the engine on the vehicle.
