1. The air filter thermostat stabilizes the temperature of the air supplied to the injection module at the throttle. The air supply is provided by a flap that closes the cold air channel and slightly opens the hot air channel coming from the exhaust manifold jacket. The damper is connected to a rod that moves when the working medium of the thermostat expands.
2. Put the car on the parking brake and block the wheels.
3. On a cold engine, remove the air filter. The outside air duct must be closed with a damper.
4. Replace the air filter and make sure that the hot air pipe is connected to the air filter nozzle and the exhaust manifold.
5. Start the engine. Watch the flap on the air filter nozzle. As the air warms up, the damper should open slightly.
6. If the damper does not open, then clean the axis of rust and lubricate. Replace air filter.
