Windshield — Removal and Installation (Chevrolet Tahoe 2)

Removal



1. If installed, remove the fixed antenna mast.

2. Open the hood.

3. Remove the wiper arms.

4. Remove the air intake grille.

5. Move the front door seal (1) to gain access to the windshield side molding mounting screws.

Note: It is not necessary to completely remove the door seal.


6. Unscrew the screws securing the windshield molding on the left and right.

7. Remove the side molding.

8. Close the following openings:


  • a) Top shelf.
  • b) Heater/air conditioner outputs.
  • c) Seats and mats.

9. Remove the rear view mirror.

10. Remove the upper windshield molding.

Note: The lower windshield supports have locks with a strip of adhesive on the back. If the lower supports have been removed, new supports must be installed.


11. Remove the lower supports (1) using a flat-head screwdriver by lifting the middle of the support up and out.

12. Using a long glue cutting knife, cut away the glue that holds the glass in place. Use only clean water to lubricate the knife.

13. Remove the windshield.
