Measuring brake pedal travel (Chevrolet Tahoe 2)

            0

1. With the ignition off and the brakes cold, apply the brakes five or more times to relieve the vacuum in the brake booster.

2. Install a pedal force gauge on the brake pedal.

3. Measure and record the distance (1) from the brake pedal to the edge of the steering wheel, mark the measurement points.

4. Apply a force of 445 N to the brake pedal.

5. Measure and record the distance (2) from the brake pedal to the edge of the steering wheel between the marked points.

6. Release the pedal and repeat steps 4 and 5.

7. Calculate the average distance (2).

8. Subtract the distance (1) from the result and you will get the brake pedal travel. Nominal travel is 90 mm.
