Air conditioning compressor drive belt (Chevrolet Tahoe 2)

Removal

1. Remove the accessory drive belt.

2. (Early models) Raise the car, unscrew the mounting bolts and remove the engine protection. Tightening torque 20 Nm.



3. Insert the key into the square hole of the belt tensioner lever.



4. Turn the tensioner clockwise until the belt tension is released.

5. Remove the air conditioning compressor drive belt.

6. Slowly release the tensioner.

7. Clean and inspect the pulley surfaces that contact the belt.

Installation

1. Place the air conditioning compressor belt on the crankshaft pulley.

2. Insert the key into the square hole of the tensioner lever.

3. Turn the tensioner clockwise to the belt tension release position.



4. Install the timing belt on the tensioner pulley.

5. Place the belt on the air conditioning compressor pulley.

6. Slowly release the tensioner, tighten the belt.

7. Check that the belt is installed correctly on the pulleys.

8. (Early models) Install engine protection.

9. Install the accessory drive belt.
