Attachment drive belt (Chevrolet Tahoe 2)

Removal



1. Open the hood.

2. Remove the air filter outlet duct.

2. Remove the air filter outlet duct.


3. Install a socket wrench onto the accessory drive belt tensioner bolt.

4. Turn the tensioner clockwise until the belt tension is released.

4. Turn the tensioner clockwise until the belt tension is released.


5. Remove the drive belt (1) from all pulleys.

6. Slowly release the tensioner.

7. Clean and inspect the pulley surfaces that contact the belt.

Installation



1. Place the belt on all pulleys except the idler pulley.

2. Install a socket wrench on the accessory drive belt tensioner bolt.

3. Turn the tensioner clockwise to the belt tension release position.

4. Place the belt on the idler pulley.

5. Slowly release the tensioner, tighten the belt.

6. Check that the belt is installed correctly on all pulleys.



7. Install the air filter outlet duct.

8. Start the engine and check the operation of the belt.

9. Close the hood.
