Exhaust Silencer — 2500 Series (Chevrolet Tahoe 2)

Removal

1. Raise the vehicle and place safety stands under the frame.

2. Unscrew the nuts securing the muffler to the right catalytic converter. Tightening torque 45 Nm.

3. Loosen the clamp securing the exhaust pipe to the left catalytic converter. Tightening torque 45 N·m.



4. Lubricate the muffler hanger hook insulators to facilitate removal.

5. With the help of an assistant, remove the insulators from hooks (4), (5) and (6).



6. Pull the muffler back until the muffler is separated from the catalytic converters, tilt the muffler forward and remove it from the vehicle.

Installation

7. Installation is carried out in reverse order.
