Output shaft seal — front (Chevrolet Tahoe 2)

Removal

1. Remove the transfer case guard.

2. Remove the front propeller shaft.

3. Insert a flat-head screwdriver under the inner ring of the oil seal.



4. Using a lever, remove the inner ring.

5. Insert a small punch under the inner ring.



6. Remove the inner ring from the oil seal.



7. Insert a flat-head screwdriver or lever into the space between the outer ring of the oil seal and the gearbox housing.





8. Remove the outer part of the seal.

Installation

1. Install the mandrel (2) onto the handle (1) of the special device.



2. Install the oil seal into the mandrel.

3. Press in the oil seal.

4. Install the front propeller shaft.

5. Check the oil level, add oil if necessary.

6. Install the transfer case guard.
