Output shaft seal — rear (Chevrolet Tahoe 2)

Removal

1 Remove the transfer case guard.

2. Remove the rear propeller shaft.

3. Remove the output shaft rear oil seal.



4. Inspect the rear oil seal bushing for signs of scoring or wear.

5. If necessary, remove the rear oil seal bushing:

• a) Insert the special collet into the sleeve.
• b) Install the pipe and pressure screw on the collet. The pressure screw must be unscrewed.
• c) Remove the oil seal bushing by turning the pressure screw.

Installation

6. Installation is carried out in the reverse order. The drain hole in the gland cover should be directed downwards.
