Checking brake discs
We check the condition of the brake discs in accordance with the maintenance plan or determine the need for such work during the diagnostics of vehicle faults.
To complete the work you will need a caliper or micrometer. We check the brake discs in the following order:
1. We prepare the car for maintenance and repair.
2. We lift the front part of the car and remove the front wheels.
Note: The work can be done by jacking up first one side of the car and then the other. Immediately after hanging the wheel, it is imperative to install a reliable stand under the car for safety. The thickness of the disc must be checked in several places.
3. Using a caliper, measure the thickness of the brake disc. Turning the disk, we repeat the measurements several times. The thickness of the disc should not be less than 23 mm.

Note: When measuring the thickness, keep in mind that when the brake disc wears, a flange is formed along its edges, the thickness of which is greater than the thickness of the working part of the disc. If the flange interferes with making accurate measurements, it must be removed with a file or the disk must be measured with a micrometer.
4. Visually check that there are no cracks or other mechanical damage to the brake disc.
5. We check the brake disc of the other front wheel in the same way.
Warning! A damaged or worn front brake disc must be replaced. Brake discs are replaced only in pairs. Therefore, on the other side of the car, the front brake disc also needs to be replaced (regardless of its condition).
6. Install the front wheels.
7. To check the rear brake discs, lift the rear of the car. We remove the rear wheels.
8. Using a caliper, measure the thickness of the rear brake disc, which should not be less than 10.2 mm.

9. Visually check that there are no cracks or other mechanical damage to the brake disc.
10. We check the brake mechanism of the other rear wheel in the same way.
Warning! A damaged or worn rear brake disc must be replaced. As with the front brake discs, the rear discs are only replaced as a pair. Therefore, on the other side of the car, the rear brake disc also needs to be replaced, regardless of its condition.
