Automatic variable valve timing system (Chevrolet Orlando 1)

            0

The engine is equipped with an automatic variable valve timing system, which improves the filling of the engine cylinders regardless of its operating modes. The system allows the engine to extract more power at high crankshaft speeds without losing traction characteristics in the mid-range.

The engine uses two phase regulators, for the intake camshaft and the exhaust camshaft.

The phase regulator of such a system with hydraulic control is driven by oil pressure from the engine lubrication system. The phase regulator rotates the drive belt pulley relative to the shaft at a certain angle, thereby changing (shifting) the intake or exhaust phases.

The oil supply is regulated by two electromagnetic phase change valves, which, upon a signal from the ECU, open the oil supply or drain channels. The valve for changing the phases of the exhaust camshaft 1 is installed on the front wall of the cylinder head, the valve for changing the phases of the intake camshaft 2 is installed on the rear wall.

The oil supply is regulated by two electromagnetic phase change valves, which, upon a signal from…
