1. Disconnect the wire from the negative terminal of the battery.
2. Open the trunk lid.
3. Remove the trunk lid trim (see "Removal and installation the trunk lid trim").

4. Remove the left trunk trim (see "Removal and installation trunk trims").

5. Pull out the retainer and disconnect the wiring harness connector located behind the left trunk trim.

6. Using a pry bar, disconnect the wire harness holders from the left hinge of the trunk lid.

7. If you are removing the trunk lid for purposes other than replacement, mark the location of the hinges relative to the trunk lid by tracing them with a marker, for example.

8. Remove two bolts securing the trunk lid to the hinges on each side and remove the trunk lid.
USEFUL TIP: The trunk lid is quite heavy and bulky, so we recommend that you remove it with an assistant.
9. Install the trunk lid in the reverse order of removal. If you are installing the old lid, before finally tightening the mounting bolts, you must orient it according to the previously applied marks. Otherwise, the position of the trunk lid must be adjusted so that the gaps between the lid and the fenders are the same on both sides, and the gaps between the upper and lower edges of the lid and the parts mating with the lid are uniform.
