Verification procedure
Important:
- Inspect all components and subcomponents and perform any repairs necessary to correct damage. If damage cannot be corrected, replace the component or subcomponent as directed.
- Rinse all components in cleaning solvent and dry with air.
1. Check the transfer case input shaft gears (1) for pitting, excessive wear or damage.
2. Check the transfer case rear output drive shaft gears (2) for pitting, excessive wear or damage.
3. Check the bearing assemblies (3) of the transfer case primary shaft for unevenness, chipping, and pitting.
4. Check the bearing assemblies (4) of the transfer case rear output drive shaft for unevenness, chipping, and pitting.
