Verification procedure
Important:
- Inspect all components and subcomponents and perform any repairs necessary to correct damage. If damage cannot be corrected, replace the component or subcomponent as directed.
- Rinse all components in cleaning solvent and dry with air.
Important: Replace if flange, threaded holes or splines are damaged.

1. Check the transfer case rear secondary shaft flange (1) for corrosion, excessive wear or damage.
Important: Replace the oil deflector if it is damaged, cracked, loose or deformed.
2. Check the oil deflector (2) of the rear secondary shaft of the transfer case.
3. Check the transfer case rear secondary shaft bearing assembly (3) for roughness, chipping or pitting.
Important:
- Check for cracks, broken areas or other damage.
- Check the bearing races for unevenness, dents on the rolling surfaces or pitting.
- Check the O-ring groove for porosity or damage.
Important: Scratches or dents in other areas can be removed with light sanding.
4. Check the housing (4) of the rear output drive shaft of the transfer case.
5. Check the splines (5) of the rear secondary shaft of the transfer case for damage and perform a press fit on the flange.
6. Check the transfer case rear secondary shaft (6) for pitting, excessive wear or damage.
