Find out if there are any cracks or traces of contact with road obstacles or the body on the suspension parts, deformation of the levers, stabilizer bar, rear body parts in the places where the suspension units and parts are attached.
Check the condition of the rubber-metal hinges, rubber cushions, and the condition (settlement) of the suspension springs.
Rubber-metal hinges and rubber cushions are subject to replacement in case of ruptures and one-sided bulging of the rubber, as well as in case of cutting of their end surfaces.
The following is not allowed on rubber suspension parts:
- signs of rubber aging;
- mechanical damage.
The following are not permitted on rubber-metal hinges:
- signs of aging, cracks;
- one-sided bulging of the rubber mass.
Replace defective parts.
When checking, carefully examine the following.

1. Rubber bushings and tightening of threaded connections of the lower shock absorber mounting eyes.

2. Check the condition of the shock absorber rod seals - fluid leaks and fogging are not allowed.

3. Check the fastening of the upper shock absorber support to the body.

4. Check the condition of the hinges using a mounting blade (silent blocks) rear suspension arms. Using a mounting blade against the body bracket, try to rock the suspension arm. If there is play in the joint, replace the beam assembly.
NOTE: To replace the silent blocks of the levers, a press with a fairly large force is required. In a garage, without a press, you can only replace the beam assembly.
5. Check the condition of the rear wheel hub bearings. To do this, lift the rear wheels and release the parking brake lever. Grasp the tire from above and below, and then, by rocking the lifted wheel in a vertical plane, make sure that there is no play in the bearings. Replace faulty bearings.

6. Inspect the rear suspension springs. If the coils are deformed or broken, replace the springs.
USEFUL TIP: Pay attention to the exhaust system. Extraneous knocking sounds from it are often mistaken for knocking in the rear suspension. The use of non-standard parts or a break in the muffler suspension elements can cause a strong knock, especially when revving. When checking, stop the engine, inspect the exhaust system, check the reliability of the fastening and suspension of the muffler. Taking the end of the exhaust pipe, swing the muffler up and down and from side to side - there should be no knocking.
