WARNINGS: Before raising the rear of the vehicle, engage first gear and chock the front wheels. Shock Absorbers (left and right) replace in pairs.
Do not remove both shock absorbers at the same time with the rear of the vehicle raised, as lowering the rear suspension beam below the permissible limit may cause the springs to "shoot out".
NOTE: The work is shown using the left shock absorber as an example. The right shock absorber is replaced in the same way.

1. If you are replacing the shock absorbers on a lift or jack, place a support under the corresponding rear axle arm and lower the car, slightly loading the suspension. This operation is not required when working on an inspection pit.

2. Remove the lower shock absorber mounting bolt...

3. ...and remove it from the shock absorber eye and bracket.

4. Remove the two bolts securing the upper shock absorber mount support...

5. ...and remove the shock absorber from the car.

6. Holding the rod from turning...

7. ...unscrew the shock absorber rod mounting nut.

8. Remove the upper support. Inspect the upper support of the shock absorber, it should not show signs of aging or deformation, otherwise replace the support.

9. Remove the protective cover and compression buffer from the rod.

10. Install the shock absorber in the reverse order of removal. Finally tighten the shock absorber lower eye bolt with the vehicle on the ground.
