Receiver and speakers — removal and installation (Chevrolet Tahoe 1)

Receiver (models 1987-1994)



1. Disconnect the battery from ground.

2. Remove the ashtray.

3. Disconnect the connectors from the receiver.

4. Loosen the mounting screws and remove the receiver with the bracket (see photo).

5 Installation is carried out in reverse order.

Receiver (models since 1995)



6. Disconnect the battery from ground.

7. Unhook the 4 clips at the top of the instrument panel door trim panel and 3 at the bottom, remove the trim panel.

8. Press the lock and remove the radio from the instrument panel.

9. Disconnect the connectors and antenna cable from the radio.

10. Installation is carried out in reverse order.

Control panel with receiver (models 1987-1994.)



11. Remove the panel trim. Remove the heater/air conditioner control panel, unscrew the screws securing the receiver control panel to the instrument panel (see photo).

12. Disconnect the connectors from the control panel.



13. Remove the control panel from the dashboard.

14. Installation is carried out in reverse order.

Front speaker



15. Carefully pry up and remove the speaker grille (see photo).

16. Remove the screws securing the speaker to the dashboard (see photo).

17. Lift the speaker and remove it, disconnecting the wires.

18. Installation is carried out in reverse order.

Rear speaker



19. Pry up and remove the speaker grille.

20. Loosen the speaker mounting screws (see photo). Remove the speaker by disconnecting the wires.

21. Installation is carried out in reverse order.
