Checking the oil level (Chevrolet Tahoe 2)

1. Raise the vehicle.

2. Adjust the position of the body so that it is horizontal.

3. If installed, remove the gearbox guard.

4. Check the front axle for oil leaks. Make the necessary repairs if necessary.

5. Clean the gearbox housing surface around the drain plug and level plug.

6. Unscrew the level plug (1).



7. Check the oil level. In an 8.25-inch gearbox, the oil level should be 12-16 mm below the cutoff of the level plug hole. In a 9.25-inch gearbox, the level should be 0-6 mm below the cutoff of the level plug hole.

8. If necessary, add oil to the required level.

9. Install and tighten the level plug, preferably replacing the sealing washer. Tightening torque 33 Nm.

10. Lower the vehicle.
