Immobilizer (optional)
The immobilizer system is an additional means of anti-theft protection of the car and serves to prevent unauthorized engine starting. Only a mechanical ignition key with a coded transponder is suitable for cars equipped with an immobilizer system. The transponder is located inside the key. The engine can only be started if the key has a transponder with the correct electronic code. A mechanically suitable key can only unlock the door or turn on the ignition, but will not allow the engine to be started. After turning the ignition key to the LOCK position and removing it from the ignition switch, the engine is automatically blocked.
