Parking assistance system forward and reverse
The parking assistance system assists the driver during forward and reverse driving by alerting the driver to the detection of an object between the vehicle and an obstacle.
The system determines the distance using sensors located in the front and rear bumpers.
The system turns on automatically when the ignition is turned on.
Note: When shifting to R (reverse) both front and rear sensors are activated.
If the shift lever is not in position R, only the front sensors are activated.
If the vehicle approaches an obstacle from the front or rear, the system emits a sequence of beeps. The interval between signals decreases with decreasing distance to the obstacle.
The system is deactivated if the vehicle speed exceeds 25 km/h.
To activate the system, press the park assist button on the dashboard. The indicator in the button will light up.
Pressing the button again will turn off the system and the indicator will turn off.
Rear parking assistance
The parking assistance system assists the driver when reversing by alerting them to the detection of an object behind the vehicle.
This system is automatically activated when the ignition switch is in the "ON", and the gear lever is moved to the position "R".
This system is deactivated if the vehicle speed exceeds 25 km/h.
After transition to transmission "R" an audible alarm sounds, indicating a normal condition.
Warning sound
The audible warning signal can be used to estimate the distance between the vehicle and an obstacle.
Forward warning signal
warning zone | Zone 1 | Zone 2 | Zone 3 |
Detection zone | 100-81 cm | 80-41 cm | less than 40 cm |
Warning sound | rare beeps | frequent beeps | continuous signal |
Warning signal when reversing
warning zone | Zone 1 | Zone 2 | Zone 3 |
Detection zone | 120-81 cm | 80-41 cm | less than 40 cm |
Warning sound | rare calls | frequent calls | continuous signal |
Note: The parking aid warning indicator may illuminate if the sensors are dirty.
If the warning light comes on because the sensors are dirty, wash the sensors with a soft sponge and clean water.
If the warning signal does not disappear after cleaning the sensors, contact a car service as soon as possible to correct the malfunction.
Attention: The occurrence of the following conditions indicates a malfunction in the parking assistance system. Contact a service station immediately for assistance.
- The parking aid warning light comes on while driving.
- The alarm sounds 6 times in a row when there are no obstacles near the rear bumper.
Attention: The parking assistance system should only be considered as an auxiliary function. The driver must always use the rear-view mirror.
The warning sound may vary depending on the object.
The warning tone may not sound if the sensor is frozen or contaminated with dust or dirt.
The parking assistance system may break down when driving on uneven surfaces, such as clearing, gravel or rough roads, or when driving downhill.
Do not touch or scratch the sensor surface. This may damage the cover layer.
The parking assistance system may not recognize sharp objects, thick winter clothing, or sound-absorbing sponge material.
Attention: When external audio signals are superimposed (metallic sound or air brake noise of heavy trucks) The parking assistance system may be malfunctioning.
Clean dirty sensors with a soft sponge and clean water.
Keep using mirrors or turn your head. While reversing, normal precautions should be followed.
Do not press or knock on the sensors, and avoid high pressure water on them (during washing), as this may damage the sensors.
If the vehicle is parked, a collision with the top of the vehicle is possible before the sensors are triggered. Therefore, when parking, use the rear-view mirrors or turn your head to control the space behind the car.
