Front and rear parking assistance system

The parking assistance system assists the driver when driving forward or reverse by alerting the driver when an object is detected between the vehicle and an obstacle.

The system determines the distance using sensors located in the front and rear bumpers.

The system turns on automatically when the ignition is turned on.

Note: When shifting to R gear (reverse) both front and rear sensors are activated.

If the shift lever is not in position R, only the front sensors are activated.

If the vehicle approaches an obstacle from the front or rear, the system emits a sequence of sound signals. The interval between signals decreases as the distance to the obstacle decreases.

The system is switched off if the vehicle speed exceeds 25 km/h.

The system is switched off if the vehicle speed exceeds 25 km/h.

To activate the system, press the parking assistance system button on the instrument panel. The indicator in the button will light up.

When the button is pressed again, the system turns off and the indicator goes out.

Rear Parking Assist System

Rear Parking Assist System

The parking assistance system assists the driver while reversing by alerting the driver if an object is detected behind the vehicle.

This system is automatically activated when the ignition switch is in the "ON" position and the gear selector lever is moved to the "R" position.

This system is deactivated if the vehicle speed exceeds 25 km/h.

After shifting to "R" gear, the alarm sound will sound, indicating normal condition.

Warning sound signal

The sound warning signal can be used to estimate the distance between the vehicle and the obstacle.

Note: The parking assist warning indicator may illuminate if the sensors are dirty.

If the warning indicator lights up due to dirty sensors, wash the sensors with a soft sponge and clean water.

If the warning signal does not disappear after cleaning the sensors, contact a car service center as soon as possible to fix the problem.

Caution: If the following conditions occur, there is a malfunction in the parking assist system. Contact a service station immediately for assistance.

- The parking assistance indicator comes on while driving.

- The alarm sounds 6 times in a row when there are no obstacles near the rear bumper.

Caution: The parking assistance system should be regarded as an auxiliary function only. The driver must always use the rear-view mirror.

The warning sound may vary depending on the object.

The warning sound may not sound if the sensor is frozen or contaminated with dust or dirt.

The parking assistance system may malfunction when driving on uneven surfaces, such as a clearing, gravel or uneven road, or when driving downhill.

Do not touch or scratch the sensor surface. This may damage the coating layer.

The parking assist system may not recognize sharp objects, thick winter clothing, or sound-absorbing sponge material.

Note: When external sound signals are superimposed (metallic sound or air brake noise of heavy trucks) the parking assistance system may be malfunctioning.

Clean dirty sensors with a soft sponge and clean water.

Continue to use your mirrors or turn your head. When reversing, take normal safety precautions.

Do not press or hit the sensors, and avoid exposing them to high pressure water (during washing), as this may damage the sensors.

When parking a car, it is possible for the top of the car to hit before the sensors are activated. Therefore, when parking, use the rear-view mirrors or turn your head to monitor the space behind the car.
