Gearbox mount assembly with final drive (left side) (Chevrolet Captiva 1)

Necessary equipment

DW 110–060 Engine clamping fixture

Removal procedure

1. Remove the battery and battery tray. See Section 1F3, Engine Controls - HFV6 3.2L.

2. Remove the decorative engine cover. See "Decorative Engine Cover" in this section.

Caution: Raise the engine sufficiently to relieve the load on the front suspension assembly of the transmission and final drive, otherwise damage to the suspension and failure of the lifting equipment may occur.

3. Support the engine assembly using the DW110-060 engine clamp.



4. Unscrew the locking bolts of the gearbox suspension bracket with the final drive assembly from the gearbox.



5. Unscrew the locking bolts of the gearbox suspension unit with the final drive assembly from the left front longitudinal element of the structure.



6. Remove the gearbox suspension unit with the final drive assembly.

Installation procedure

1. Install the gearbox suspension unit with the final drive assembly.

Tighten

Tighten the transaxle mount retaining bolts (2) to 37 N·m (27 lb-ft).

Tighten the transmission mount bracket retaining bolts (1) to 50 N·m (37 lb-ft).



2. Remove the engine assembly fixture DW110-060.

3. Install the battery and battery tray. See Section 1F3, Engine Controls - HFV6 3.2L.

4. Install the decorative engine cover. See "Decorative Engine Cover" in this section.
