1. Decompression must be performed before disassembling or servicing any fuel system component
2. Remove the filler cap from the tank.
3. Disconnect the batteries from ground.
4. Fla models with TBi system (1987-1995) do not need to perform any measures. These engines have a special valve through which the fuel pressure is released after the engine is stopped.
5. On engines with SFI system, attach fuel pressure gauge with hose to fuel fitting. Place the end of hose in the container and unscrew the screw of the vent hole. After fuel flows out, tighten the screw.
