Front wing — removal and installation (Chevrolet Tahoe 2)

Note: The procedure for replacing the left wing is shown here, replacing the right wing is similar, except for some minor differences.


1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.

2. Remove the outer part of the engine compartment bulkhead grille trim.

3. Remove the hood.

4. Remove the hood spring assembly.

5. Remove the clamp connecting the wing to the engine compartment bulkhead. Tightening torque 25 N·m.

Tightening torque 9 Nm.

6. Remove the wheel arch panel bracket. Tightening torque 25 N·m.

7. Remove the battery tray.



8. Release the hood lock cable from the support clips.

9. Release the windshield washer hose from the wing clips.

10. Remove the fuse box (power distribution).

11. Remove the fasteners (2) from the wheel arch (1) to the wing (3).

11. Remove the fasteners (2) from the wheel arch (1) to the wing (3).


12. Loosen the bolt securing the wing to the engine compartment bulkhead. Tightening torque 25 Nm.

13. Open the front door.



14. Loosen the bolts securing the wing to the door hinges. Tightening torque 25 Nm.

15. Release the radiator grille clip from the wing.

16. Loosen the bolts securing the wing to the radiator support. Tightening torque 25 Nm.

16. Loosen the bolts securing the wing to the radiator support. Tightening torque 25 Nm.


17. Loosen the rear lower wing mounting bolt. Tightening torque 25 Nm.

17. Loosen the rear lower wing mounting bolt. Tightening torque 25 Nm.


18. Remove the front wing.

19. Installation is carried out in reverse order.
