Removal



1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.

2. Disable the passive safety system.

3. Remove the air intake duct.

4. Remove the air filter housing.

5. Remove the radiator grille.

6. (Only Avalanche) remove the radiator grille reinforcement.

7. Remove the front bumper.

8. Remove the frontal impact sensor of the passive restraint system.

9. Remove the headlights.

10. Remove the turn signal lamp assemblies.

11. Remove the hood lock bracket and place the lock cable aside.

12. If installed, remove the radiator frame clamp (2).

12. If installed, remove the radiator frame clamp (2).


13. Unscrew the headlight housing support (1) from the clamp (2).

14. Disconnect the horn connector.

15. Remove the radiator.

16. If installed, remove the automatic transmission fluid cooler.

17. Remove the upper radiator shutter.

18. Remove the radiator side flaps.

19. Loosen the power steering fluid cooler mounting bolts and place the cooler aside.

20. Disconnect the automatic recirculation switch connector (heating and air conditioning systems).

20. Disconnect the automatic recirculation switch connector (heating and air conditioning systems).


21. If installed, remove the air conditioner condenser,



22. Loosen the upper bolt securing the washer reservoir (1) to the clamp (2). Tightening torque 9 Nm.

23. Remove the battery tray.

24. Loosen the lower bolt securing the washer reservoir (1) to the clamp (2). Tightening torque 9 Nm.

25. Remove the battery tray support. Tightening torque 9 N·m.

26. Remove the air filter housing support bracket. Tightening torque 9 N·m.



27. Loosen the bolts securing the front fenders to the radiator support. The left fender bolts are shown. Tightening torque 25 Nm.

28. Loosen the bolt and nut (1) securing the lower radiator support cushion. Tightening torque 70 Nm.

29. Remove the radiator support flap (2).

30. Remove the radiator support from the frame.



31 Remove the sound signals from the support.

Installation



32. Installation is carried out in reverse order.
