Air conditioning unit (Chevrolet Tahoe 2)

Removal



1. Drain the coolant from the engine cooling system. See chapter "Cooling system".

2. Using a special tool, disconnect the coolant supply hose from the heater radiator.

3. Using a special tool, disconnect the coolant drain hose from the heater radiator.

4. (Models since 2007.) Remove the intake manifold cover.

5. (Models since 2007.) Remove the battery.

6. Remove the air conditioner battery.

7. Remove the instrument panel bracket. See chapter "Body".

8. Disconnect the hose from the air conditioning unit.

9. Disconnect all electrical connectors from the air conditioning unit.

9. Disconnect all electrical connectors from the air conditioning unit.


10. (Models since 2007.) Install the engine rear cover (1) behind the intake manifold.

11. (Models since 2007.) Install the insulating strip under the cover. Drill a 025.4 mm hole in the rear cover to access the air conditioning unit mounting nut.

12. Unscrew the nuts (4) securing the air conditioning unit (2). Tightening torque 9 Nm.

13. Loosen the bolts (3) securing the air conditioning unit (2). Tightening torque 4 Nm.

14. Remove the air conditioning unit (2).

Installation



15. Installation is carried out in reverse order.

16. Evacuate the system and fill the system with refrigerant.

17. Using a special device, check the connected fittings of the system for refrigerant leaks.

18. Fill the engine cooling system with coolant.
