Heater radiator — removal and installation (Chevrolet Tahoe 2)

Cadillac Escalade (models before 2005.)



1. Drain the coolant from the engine cooling system.

2. Remove the glove box.

3. Disconnect all wiring connectors.

4. Remove the center air duct.

5. Remove the front side trim panels.

6. Remove the cover from the fan motor.

7. Remove the fan motor.

8. Remove the steering column.

9. Turn the instrument panel.

10. Remove the expansion tank of the cooling system.

11. Remove the heater unit hoses.

12. (Some models, from the inside) While holding the heater unit, loosen the heater unit mounting screw. Tightening torque 11 Nm.

13. (From the engine side) Loosen the four screws securing the heater unit. Tightening torque 2 Nm.

13. (From the engine side) Loosen the four screws securing the heater unit. Tightening torque 2 Nm.


14. (From the engine side) Loosen the two nuts securing the heater unit. Tightening torque 3 Nm.



15. Remove the heater unit.

16. Unscrew the seven screws securing the heater unit cover.

17. Remove the cover.

18. Remove the heater radiator from the holder.

19. Installation is carried out in reverse order.

20. Check the connected fittings of the system for refrigerant leaks.

Chevrolet Tahoe, Cadillac Escalade (models since 2005.)



1. Remove the air conditioning unit.

2. Loosen the screws securing the protective cover of the heater radiator. Tightening torque 2 Nm.

3. Remove the protective cover of the heater radiator (1) from the air conditioning unit (2).

4. Remove the gasket (1) from the heater radiator pipes (2).

5. Remove the heater radiator (1) from the air conditioning unit (2).

6. Installation is carried out in reverse order.
