Air conditioning fan motor (Chevrolet Tahoe 2)

Removal



Cadillac Escalade (models before 2005.)



1. Disconnect the cable from the negative terminal of the battery.

2. Remove the glove box.

3. Remove the front door sill trim on the right side.

4. Remove the front side trim.

5. Disconnect the electrical connectors from the engine control unit.

6. Disconnect the fan electrical connector (5).

6. Disconnect the fan electrical connector (5).


7. Unscrew the instrument panel holder mounting bolt on the right side.

8. Remove the cover from the fan motor.

9. Disconnect the hose from the fan motor.

10. Loosen the screws (4) securing the fan motor.

11. Carefully pull the electric motor forward, being careful not to touch the fan, and remove the electric motor.

12. Installation is carried out in reverse order.

Note: Before installing the fan motor, please check:
  • Check the fan motor connector for damage. Remove any corrosion from the connector terminals and replace the fan motor if necessary.
  • Check the electric motor flange for damage and deformation. Replace the flange if necessary.
  • Check the fan impeller for damage or kinks.


Chevrolet Tahoe, Cadillac Escalade (models since 2005.) - Delphi



1. Remove the soundproofing pad.



2. Loosen the fan motor mounting screws. Tightening torque 2 Nm.

2. Loosen the fan motor mounting screws. Tightening torque 2 Nm.


3. Disconnect the fan motor connector.

4. Remove the cover from the fan motor.

5. Turn the fan motor counterclockwise while pulling the tab downwards and disconnect the motor from the air conditioning unit.

5. Turn the fan motor counterclockwise while pulling the tab downwards and disconnect the motor…


6. Remove the fan motor.

6. Remove the fan motor.


7. Installation is carried out in reverse order.



Chevrolet Tahoe, Cadillac Escalade (models since 2005.) - Visteon



1. Remove the soundproofing pad.

2. Disconnect the connector (2) of the fan motor (1).

2. Disconnect the connector (2) of the fan motor (1).


3. Loosen the fan motor mounting screws. Tightening torque 2 Nm.

4. Disconnect the fan motor (1) from the air conditioning unit (3).

5. Remove and discard the impeller holders.

6. Remove the fan impeller from the electric motor (1).

Installation



7. Installation is carried out in reverse order.
