Note:
- Installation is carried out in reverse order.
- If replacing the condenser, fill the new condenser with the required amount of air conditioning oil. See section "Volumes of liquids to be filled into the air conditioning system".
- Evacuate the system and charge the system with refrigerant.
- Using a special device, check the system for refrigerant leaks.
Cadillac Escalade (models before 2005.)
1. Pump the refrigerant out of the air conditioning system.
2. Remove the radiator grille.
3. Remove the hood lock mounting bracket.
4. Remove the additional engine cooling fan. See Chapter "Cooling system".
5. Disconnect the hose from the air conditioner condenser.
6. Disconnect the evaporator tubes from the condenser.
7. To avoid contamination of the system, install plugs on the open ends of the tubes.
8. Loosen the bolts. Tightening torque 4.5 Nm.
9. Remove the brackets.
10. Remove the upper insulation pads.
11. Remove the air conditioner condenser.
Air Conditioner Condenser Removal and Installation Cadillac Escalade (models before 2005.)
Chevrolet Tahoe (models before 2005.)
1. Drain the coolant from the engine cooling system. See chapter "Cooling system".
2. Disconnect the electrical connector from the air intake duct.
3. Disconnect the hose from the air filter.
4. Remove the air intake duct.
5. Remove the radiator.
6. Pump the refrigerant out of the air conditioning system.
7. Disconnect the refrigerant drain hose from the condenser.
8. Remove the refrigerant drain hose.
9. Disconnect the evaporator tube from the condenser.
10. Loosen the bolts and remove the upper clamps. Tightening torque 2 Nm.

11. Remove the air conditioner condenser.
Chevrolet Tahoe, Cadillac Escalade (models since 2005.)
1. Pump the refrigerant out of the air conditioning system.
2. (Models before 2007.) Remove the radiator grille. See chapter "Body".
3. Loosen the radiator beam mounting bolts (1) to access the radiator bracket mounting bolts. Tightening torque 9 Nm.

4. (Models before 2007.) Loosen the lower bonnet lock bracket mounting bolts. Tightening torque 9 Nm.

5. Unscrew the nut securing the refrigerant drain hose from the condenser. Tightening torque 16 N·m.

6. Disconnect the hose from the condenser.
7. Unscrew the nut securing the evaporator tube from the condenser. Tightening torque 16 Nm.

8. Disconnect the tube from the evaporator.
9. Loosen the holder mounting bolts and remove the holder. Tightening torque 2 Nm.

10. Remove the air conditioner condenser.
