Removal



Caution: Read the warnings in the chapter "Passive safety system".


1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.

2. Disable the passive safety system.

3. Remove the knee support.

4. Remove the steering column covers.

5. Insert the ignition key into the ignition switch and turn it to the RUN position.

6. Insert a hex key into the hole in the upper part of the lock cylinder housing and press the hex key onto the cylinder retainer in the housing.

7. Remove the lock cylinder from the housing.

8. Disconnect the "key in lock" sound signal wire from the lock cylinder housing.

9. Press the ignition lock latches in the lock cylinder housing with a special fork.

10. Pull the ignition switch out of the lock cylinder housing.

11. Disconnect the ignition switch wiring connector.

Installation



Caution: The ignition switch gears and the lock cylinder housing must be in the correct position. Incorrect engagement of the gears will result in the engine not starting or the battery being discharged.

Caution: To ensure that the lock cylinder housing gear reaches its extreme position when the gear rotates, press and hold the parking lock solenoid rod.




3. Connect the ignition switch wiring connector.

5. Using a screwdriver, turn the gear of the lock cylinder housing clockwise to the START position. Release the gear. Under the action of the spring, the lock will move to the RUN position.

6. Correctly orient the lock cylinder and install it into the housing.

7. Connect the "key in lock" sound signal wire to the lock cylinder body.

8. Install the steering column covers.

9. Install the knee support.

10. Turn on the passive safety system.

11. Connect the negative battery cable.
