Withdrawal
Caution: Read the warnings in chapter "Passive safety system".
1. Disable the passive safety system (airbags).
2. Remove the knee brace.
Note: before disconnecting the steering column or the intermediate shaft, set the front wheels of the car in a straight-ahead position, lock the steering column (ignition switch LOCK position). Failure to follow this instruction will result in incorrect orientation of individual parts and damage to the current collector of the passive safety system.
3. Lock the steering column with a special lock through the access hole in the lower casing of the steering column.
4. Remove an arm of the block of management of the onboard electric equipment. Do not disconnect the wiring connector of the unit.
5. Disconnect the cable from the column (1) gear shifting.
6. Disconnect the steering column wiring connectors.
7. Remove the holder from the front panel (4) bundle of wires.
Note: after installing the steering column, be sure to secure the wire bundles with standard clips to prevent damage to the wiring.
8. Loosen the pinch bolt (1) upper intermediate shaft, remove the shaft.
9. Loosen the nuts (1) knee deflector. Tightening torque 9 Nm.
10. Turn away nuts of fastening of the top and bottom support of a pipe of a steering column. Tightening torque 30 Nm.
11. Remove a steering column from the car.
Note: A steering wheel removed from a vehicle is extremely susceptible to damage. Dropping the column on the end will deform the steering shaft or weaken the plastic inserts that give the column the necessary rigidity. Mounting the dispenser in an inclined position may cause deformation of the dispenser pipe. Any of the aforementioned damage causes the column to lose its crash-fold properties.
