Steering rack assembly. 1 - outer tie rod, 2 - inner tie rod nut, 3 - boot clamp, 4 - boot, 5 - boot clamp, 6 - inner tie rod, 7 - rack cylinder tube, 8 - rack cylinder tube, 9 - sealing ring, 10 - sealing ring, 11 - tube mounting bracket, 12 - bracket mounting block, 13 - steering rack, 14 - inner tie rod, 15 - boot clamp, 16 - boot, 17 - boot clamp, 18 - inner tie rod nut, 19 - outer tie rod.


Removal



1. Remove the front wheels.

2. Disconnect the steering shaft from the steering rack.

3. Unscrew the nuts (1) securing the steering rods. Tightening torque 60 Nm.

4. Using a puller, separate the ball joints (2) of the steering rods from the steering knuckles.



Note: Do not separate the ball joints with a wedge, this may damage the ball joint boot.


5. Drain the fluid from the power steering pump reservoir.

6. Place a container under the steering rack to collect the fluid.

7. Loosen the bolt (3) of the bracket (4) securing the power steering system tubes. Tightening torque 12 N·m.

8. Pull the tubes out of the steering rack housing. Plug any open holes to prevent dirt from entering the system.

9. Loosen the steering rack mounting bolts (5) (left side). Tightening torque 200 Nm.

10. Loosen the steering rack mounting bolts (6) (right side). Tightening torque 100 Nm.

11. Remove the steering rack (7) from the vehicle.

12. Replace the steering rack seals if necessary.

Installation



13. Installation is carried out in the reverse order. After installation, fill the power steering system, bleed the system and adjust the front wheel alignment.
