Checking the brake fluid level (Chevrolet Tahoe 2)

            0

1. Check the brake fluid level in the brake hydraulic reservoir. The level should be between the "MAX" and "MIN" marks.

Brake fluid type - DOT3 or Delco Supreme 11

Note: As the brake linings wear, the brake fluid level will drop slightly, but this does not indicate a malfunction.

Note: As the brake linings wear, the brake fluid level will drop slightly, but this does not…

Attention:
  • If the brake fluid level drops noticeably over a short period of time, this indicates the presence of leaks in the brake system.
  • Brake fluid is toxic and corrosive.
  • Brake fluid is hygroscopic. Too much moisture in it has a detrimental effect on the brake system and reduces the efficiency of the brakes.

2. If the brake fluid level is near the "MIN" mark, remove any dirt around the cap, remove the reservoir cap and carefully add brake fluid to the "MAX" mark. Install and secure the reservoir cap.

Note: Do not fill the brake fluid reservoir above the "MAX" mark.
