Camshaft Position Sensor (Chevrolet Tahoe 2)

Removal

Early models

1. Loosen the sensor mounting bolt. Tightening torque 29 Nm.

2. Remove the sensor.



3. Installation is carried out in reverse order.

Late models

Caution: Clean the surfaces around the sensor to avoid dirt getting into the engine.

1. Raise the vehicle and place safety posts under the frame.

2. Disconnect the sensor connector (1).



3. Unscrew the bolts (705) and (738) securing the sensor wire harness. The figure shown is for models without variable valve timing.



Tightening torque 12 Nm.



4. Remove the wire harness (737).

5. Remove the sensor (703) and sealing ring (704).

Installation

6. Installation is carried out in the reverse order. Lubricate the sealing ring with engine oil.
